This coloring book forges a new direction for Vintage Coloring in that the illustrations contained within were drawn based on inspirations from the original source, which in this case was a two book collection released in 1795 by architect Paul Decker of his drawings made while visiting China. This volume includes the following
• Twenty full page illustrations
• Twenty 4”x6” single images of the artwork used to create the full page illustrations
• Single-sided pages
• Blank pages at the end of the book to test your coloring implements
Due to the thickness of the paper, colored pencils are recommended. Markers may be used, though having a sheet of cardstock or a few pieces of copy paper under the page you are coloring is useful to prevent possible bleed-through onto the next illustration.
Each illustration was hand-drawn based on the original architectural sketches, then repeated and combined into a full page pattern. This volume is part of the Vintage Coloring series of adult coloring books by late nineteenth-early twentieth century artists.

I love this coloring book. The designs are more simple and linear (based upon designs from Chinese architecture), and in my opinion, excellent for coloring. The compiler states in the forward that if you're going to use markers, you probably need a piece of cardstock inserted between the pages, and I was grateful for that warning. Nothing bled through. There are also several pages left blank in the back to test markers/pencils on, which is helpful. Excellent coloring book.Product details

You need to check out Heidi's coloring books. They are wonderful! This is another must have.
Almost two years ago I started colouring and I would not have believed then, what I have coloured this week.
A German architect, Paul Decker, known for his monumental, Gothic and Baroque architectural drawings, visited China, drawing what he saw there.
In 1795 his two volume work was published.
In 2016, Heidi Berthiaume, inspired by his Chinese gate drawings, put together this book of his designs for us to colour.
I have now found my second finalist for my personal Books of the Year lineup.
Beautiful, clean coloring pages. The designs could be interpreted as stained glass. I use mine to practice shading techniques and color combinations.
